What we collect and why

Website delivery and security

When you visit, our hosting provider's servers process standard request information (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) and may keep security logs, so the site can be delivered to you and kept secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

Enquiries

If you contact us by email we receive the name, email address and message you send. If you use the enquiry form on our contact page, those same details are delivered to our inbox by our email service provider, Emailit, over an encrypted connection. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check operated by Cloudflare which processes browser, device and request information and a verification token to confirm submissions are genuine and prevent spam; it does not receive the contents of your message. The Turnstile check is necessary to provide the protected form and is in our legitimate interests in keeping the site secure. We use your details to reply to you and, where relevant, to take steps at your request before entering a contract; our lawful basis is taking steps towards a contract at your request, or our legitimate interests in responding to other enquiries.

Do you have to provide your data?

Using our contact form is optional. If you choose to use it, your name, email address and message are required so that we can receive and reply to your enquiry; without them the form cannot be submitted. You may contact us by email instead. If we need further information to provide a contracted service or comply with a legal obligation, we will explain this when we ask for it.

Working together

If you commission us, we keep contractual records needed to provide the service (lawful basis: contract) and records we must keep by law, such as accounting records (lawful basis: legal obligation).

Who receives your data

We use a small number of service providers to run this website: our hosting provider; Cloudflare (the Turnstile security check on the contact form); Emailit (email delivery for enquiries);. The WhatsApp and Google Calendar links on this site are ordinary external links: they only send data to those services if you choose to click them, and their own privacy notices then apply.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we apply the protections required by law (such as adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards). Contact us if you would like details of the protections in place for a particular provider.

How long we keep data

  • Enquiry emails and form messages: kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up; we review and delete them when they are no longer needed.
  • Server and security logs: kept for the period needed to operate and secure the site, as set by our hosting provider's log handling.
  • Contractual and legal records: for the periods required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, and to data portability.

You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.

You can make a data protection complaint directly to Real Code Ltd by emailing contact@realcode.co.uk or writing to 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate it and explain the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint; you do not have to contact us first.

Automated decisions

This website does not make decisions about you using solely automated processing.
